Trump Announced Response to Pelosi's Grab For His Military Power
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has retaliated against President Donald Trump’s deicison to take swift action in Iran, saying that the House plans to muzzle his ability to function as Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces:
“This week, the House will introduce and vote on a War Powers Resolution to limit the President’s military actions regarding Iran,” Pelosi wrote in a letter to fellow Democrats according to Fox News.
Pelosi also referenced a similar Senate resolution that is slated to be introduced by Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va.
“It reasserts Congress’s long-established oversight responsibilities by mandating that if no further Congressional action is taken, the Administration’s military hostilities with regard to Iran cease within 30 days.”
Trump, however, responded via a tweet on Sunday afternoon stating that that “legal notice is not required” for him to take military action, and said that his online activity was notice enough to inform Congress that he “will quickly & fully strike back, & perhaps in a disproportionate manner” if Iran attacks “any U.S. person or target.”
This statement came just a day after the president warned of harsh consequences if Iran targets the United States: “Iran is talking very boldly about targeting certain USA assets as revenge for our ridding the world of their terrorist leader who had just killed an American, & badly wounded many others,” Trump said in his Saturday tweet.
“He was already attacking our Embassy, and preparing for additional hits in other locations. Iran has been nothing but problems for many years.

The USA wants no more threats!”
