AOC's Assessment of The Richmond 2A Rally Show's What is Wrong With Politics Today
Frustration continues on the subject of the Second Amendment rally that took place in Richmond Virginia on Monday. Despite the peaceful way that the day turned out, some on the left still consider the way the police handled the even to have been racist.
One such frustrated liberal is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who commented on the rally while speaking at a Martin Luther King Day event on Monday.
“When we go out and march for the dignity and the recognition of the lives of people like Freddie Gray and Eric Garner the whole place is surrounded by police in riot gear without a gun in sight,” she claimed.
“And here are all of these people flying Confederate flags with semiautomatic weapons and there’s almost no police officers at that protest,” she continued.
While it's unclear where Ocasio-Cortez received her information about the rally that was still being reported on while she was speaking, there has thus far been only one report of a single offending flag among 20,000 people who flooded the city, none of which were allowed on Capitol grounds with firearms, according to reports.
The New York Democrat concluded her comments on the subject asking “who or what are our institutions protecting from who? And that image conveys it all, conveys it all.”
